STS Crane Jacking Frames

Proprietary high-capacity structural steel lifting frames integrated with synchronized hydraulics, engineered to raise and support STS cranes during heightening, gauge widening, and structural modification programs.

Proprietary high-capacity structural steel lifting frames integrated with synchronized hydraulics, engineered to raise and support STS cranes during heightening, gauge widening, and structural modification programs.

ZPMC USA maintains and operates proprietary STS crane jacking frame systems — purpose-designed structural steel assemblies integrated with synchronized hydraulic lifting equipment capable of handling some of the largest container cranes in operation today. These systems enable ports to extend the service life of existing crane assets and adapt to evolving operational requirements without replacing serviceable equipment.

How Jacking Frames Work

Each jacking frame system is engineered to accommodate project-specific crane geometries, load paths, lifting sequences, and structural tolerances. The high-capacity structural steel frames work in conjunction with ZPMC USA’s Synchronous Jacking Systems to provide controlled, synchronized lifting across all support points simultaneously — critical when raising or repositioning structures that may exceed 1,000 to 2,500 metric tons.

Real-time monitoring and safety systems provide continuous operational oversight throughout every phase of the operation. Temporary bracing and stabilization systems maintain crane integrity while structural modifications are performed.

Key System Features

  • High-capacity structural steel lifting frames engineered for extreme loading conditions
  • Synchronized hydraulic lifting cylinders for precise load control and balanced lifting
  • Engineered load transfer systems designed to safely distribute crane reactions
  • Computer-controlled lifting synchronization for uniform movement across all support points
  • Real-time monitoring and safety systems for continuous operational oversight
  • Temporary bracing and stabilization systems to maintain crane integrity

Supported Project Types

  • Ship-to-Shore crane heightening programs
  • Rail gauge widening and terminal expansion projects
  • Structural rehabilitation and life-extension initiatives
  • Crane leg replacement and repair operations
  • Seismic retrofit and resilience upgrades
  • Crane relocation and reconfiguration projects
  • Major crane modernization and capacity enhancement programs

Every jacking operation involves detailed engineering analysis, structural evaluations, temporary works design, hydraulic system planning, load path verification, and lifting sequence development — all performed by ZPMC USA’s in-house engineering team.
