Custom-engineered structural load transfer systems that connect crane structures to temporary lifting and transport equipment during raise, relocation, and modification projects.
ZPMC USA owns and deploys specialized Crane Carrying Systems (CCS) — the critical load-transfer interface between a crane structure and the temporary lifting or transport equipment used to raise, relocate, or modify it. Without a CCS, the concentrated loads of a crane cannot be safely transferred from its permanent wheel and rail system into a jacking frame or SPMT fleet.
What a CCS Does
During crane modification and relocation projects, the crane’s weight must transfer from its permanent supports to temporary equipment. ZPMC USA’s Crane Carrying Systems are specifically engineered to perform this function while maintaining structural integrity, controlling load distribution, and ensuring stability throughout every phase of the operation.
Each CCS is custom-engineered for the specific crane model, loading conditions, support locations, and operational requirements of the project. A typical system incorporates high-strength structural carrying beams, engineered load transfer assemblies, reinforced support and connection structures, and integrated lifting and transport interfaces.
Modern container cranes can exceed 1,500 to 2,500 metric tons in operating weight, with highly variable load reactions distributed throughout the structure. ZPMC USA’s Crane Carrying Systems are engineered to safely manage these complex loading conditions while maintaining alignment, minimizing structural stresses, and providing controlled load transfer during lifting and transport operations.
Where CCS Fits in a Crane Project
Within a typical crane modification program, four systems work together:
- Jacking Frames provide structural support and lifting interfaces
- Synchronous Jacking Systems deliver precise hydraulic lifting control
- Crane Carrying Systems transfer crane loads into the lifting equipment
- SPMTs facilitate crane relocation and transport operations
This integrated approach enables ZPMC USA to execute crane raises, relocations, gauge widening projects, and structural modifications safely and with minimal terminal disruption.
Applications
Crane Carrying Systems are utilized across a wide range of specialized port infrastructure projects, including crane heightening programs, crane relocation and SPMT transport, heavy lift and structural modification projects involving crane booms, machinery houses, portal frames, and major crane components.
